This appeal in the form of a petition is to remind you of a national duty
as a Sri Lankan to preserve an institution of immense historical
significance for future generations.

The founder Dr. Paul Dhalke (a German doctor) wished this institution
to be a bastion of Theravada Buddhism as well as place of
worship and reverence for all religious and nationalities.
